Adapting to the International food processing standards is the corner stone of the planning and execution strategy at UBIs Cannery. State-of-the-art plant at Yalasi in Shivamogga district of Karnataka (India) complies with the International safety norms and deploys modern machinery to produce International quality end products. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Compliance to ISO 22000 and HACCP guidelines and registration with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India ensures sustainable product quality. Membership with APEDA aligns with the export policy of the organisation. The installed capacity of the plant is to process 12-ton fruit translating to 8000 cans per shift.

Our Farms

UBI's Cannery has few hundred acres of high fertile farm lands where pineapple is being cultivated within 30km radius from the plant. We employ advanced farming techniques coupled with the automated irrigation and fertigation techniques to improve the yields. A good sum of R&D budget is devoted to achieve innovations in the cultivation fields to reduce the cost of the raw material.

UBI's has also entered into contract farming agreements with many small farmers to achieve dual purpose of ensuring sufficient supply of raw material to the factory and to assure guaranteed price to the farmers for their produce.

With a control over supply of raw fruits from high yielding farm land and the advance farming techniques, the unit is self sufficient in terms of raw material requirements
